Greetings Kin

1. Are you navigating a complex situation aka a circumstantial constellation of inner/outer happenings?

2. a challenging choice-point or looming decision?

3. a rich and heavy matter of heart?

4. or a conflicted life-passage for which the way forth continues to evade you, despite your labor and devotion?

For such individuals and for those interested, i am here to offer my Self in service to you in a way i’ve not been available for until now.

In 2023/24 i completed a rigorous six-month initiation process — which started on the west coast of the US; then took me over to the wild Atlantic Way of Ireland; to the Cathar lands of Southern France; back to Ireland and eventually to my ancestral homeland of the Hudson Valley of New York — to become a Huna Qi Vesta; a High Priest of the Lemurian divination system called the Qi Vesta, which translates to “The Breath of the Divine” or that which breathes life into manifestation.

This sacred and holy divination system and the associated initiation process were received and transmitted by the renowned and beloved Seer Almine.

It was care of her Grace, the Grace of the Great Mother — and the impeccable orchestration of the infinite, that i would both undergo and complete this process. The story is long and winding; and for another now.

So, back to my question, regarding what you may be navigating…

Often times, the way forth is not clear because the current perceptual framework and the root system it is founded upon are not adequate to ‘hold’ the way or the solution to what you’re seeking to resolve — thus the looping, perpetuated by perceptual obscurations and hidden binds.

Further, the current perceptual framework contains the very blind spot(s) that result in the perceived dilemma or problem. In essence this is the definition of a double bind. The double bind expresses as a dependency on the obsolete version of self and reality that are essentially resulting in the dilemma one may be grappling with. Without one there is not the other… they are dependent on one another to exist.

The specific (seemingly real) hologram you’re challenged by ‘exists’ only as a side-effect of a particular matrix of consciousness and that holographic side-effect (aka problem) is as real as it is for you in your particular tapestry of dreaming.

Einstein famously said,
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”

To liberate oneself of such ‘self-created problems’ — regardless of what within us fueled such creation — what is required is the release and dissolution of obsolete mental constructs/belief systems and the hidden programs that bind the heart to these obsolete perceptions.

That in tandem with the application of ‘spiritual structures’ that support the architecting and scaffolding of a containment field for the birthing of resolution in the specific situation/matter.

Essentially the installation of a higher-order field of coherence, where solutions that did not exist prior, can now exist and emerge, for there is an accessible infrastructure for these new solutions.

The Hakulit process for Self-guidance and manifestation is a specific type of use of the Qi Vesta system. This session is ~2-hours in length and will clear the way to manifest the resolution to your problem/issue/situation/dilemma or life-passage. You are the answer/solution/resolution; and this session will assist you to become the living embodiment of the expression of emergent innovation — the breath of the divine.

The Qi Vesta is comprised of 4 decks of 36 cards totaling to 144 cards. The four decks correspond to the four levels of life in form: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Each card contains a ‘concept’ and a ‘sigil’. This is ‘the well’ from which we will be drawing forth to architect, scaffold, and birth your resolution. This isn’t just another form of ‘spiritual coaching’ or talk/somatic support; though elements of such most certainly weave into how i guide the session and process.

The Qi Vesta (and Hakulit) is a sacred tool, which utilizes high alchemy — and the associated processes of transformation, transmutation, and transfiguration in service to transcendance.

🎉 4/12/25 is my Birthday 🎉 …well, not exactly.

April 12th, 2025 is the same kin in the Tzolk’in as my birth kin, 1 Men/Tz’ikin
April 12th, 2025 is also day 1 of 13 of the Tz’ikin Trecena (thanks ).

Meaning, i was born on the first day of the Tz’ikin Trecena during a particular Gregorian year.

As you can see, on the day i was born in the Gregorian calendar there was a particular energy for that day by way of the Tzolk’in, 1 Men/Tz’ikin. K’in translates to day, so technically ‘Birth K’in’ is one’s birth day—of course this is all thru the lens of English.

The ‘energetic signature’ of any day is made up of a 1 of 20 day-signs or Nahuals, which happens on 1 of 13 days of a unique 13-day Trecena—and a ‘night lord’. Three variables in the alchemy of the energetic signature of one’s birth day/kin.

i wrote about this in detail several months ago.

My birth kin 1 Tz’ikin is fixed to kin #235/260, it just so happens that this corresponds to 4/12/25 in this current Tzolk’in cycle.

In the next 260-day cycle, which begins on Kin #1 on 5/8/25, my birth kin will occur on a different day than my Gregorian birthday of 12/29—and a day other than 4/12/25.

For cultures synchronized with the Gregorian Calendrical system, birthdays are fixed to and celebrated on the same day/month each year, i.e., December 29.

Strange though, baseless actually, when you really dive into it, as i will here.

Here’s why it’s strange.

On the day/month/year i was born, the day sign was 1 Men/Tz’ikin (with a particular ‘night lord’ of which there are 9). This is my birth kin and the energetic signature of my essential individuated Self.

For reference, here are the day signs of my past 5 Gregorian calendar birthdays…

Though i was born on 12/29 and that is celebrated as my birthday each year, as you can see, the prior 5 years (and many more) did not have the precise energetic signature as that of the day/month/year of my gregorian birth day. The “galactic signature” from year to year varied, though the gregorian date stayed the same, 12/29.

This begs the question of when…when will my next ‘birthday’ (in the Gregorian calendar) or [insert any birth day] have the same energetic signature as that of the day that i was born? #rhetoricalquestion i’ve pondered and explored at length.

On any given December 29th, there is 1 of 20 day sign’s/Nahual; 1 of 20 Trecena’s; and 1 of 9 Night Lords as you see in the images above.

So while 12/29 is technically ‘the day/month’ i was born, energetically that day in any given Gregorian calendrical year doesn’t necessarily have the precise energetic signature of the day that i was born.

To be clear though, there is a day(s) that do.

That would be whatever date in a particular Gregorian calendar year, which is when the day-sign and Trecena of Tzolk’in are the same as that of the day i was born in the Gregorian calendar.

This can be confusing i know…hence the visuals above.

This is the same for you as well, though you would have to do the research for yourself to identify the actual day/month/year that have the same energetic signature as the day you were born.

Having shared this, and assuming you’re still with me, it should make sense to you why it would be more apropos for me to celebrate my ‘birthday’ on 4/12/25 rather than 12/29/24 or 12/29/25—the ‘vibe’ of 4/12 is far closer to the actual vibe of the Gregorian calendar date i was born per the energetics of the Tzolk’in timekeeping system.

The same applies to you.

There’s more…

Remember i said there are three variables in the alchemy of the energetic signature of any day, including one’s birth day?

1. 1 of 20 day-signs or nahual

2. 1 of 13 days within a 13-day Trecena

3. 1 of 9 night lord’s

While 4/12/25 has the same day-sign (1) and Trecena (2) it does not have the same Night Lord (3) as the day i was born in the Gregorian calendar.

That said, close enough for me; though technically the EXACT signature is when the third condition is met, which occurs only once every nine 260-day Tzolk’in cycles.

I’m grateful for my competency in math, it lends well to time keeping; and the countless discoveries revealed through the exploration of energy and cycles.

Said differently…

On some date in the Greogrian calendar you were born; that day had a particular energetic signature relative to it’s position in a 260-day Tzolk’in cycle.

When that energetic signature occurs in any given Gregorian calendar year is not the same as your Gregorian birth day; it occurs on a different day/month from year to year.

If the purpose of celebrating a birthday is to honor the day one entered this plane, than certainly associating it with a fixed day/month makes sense.

On the other hand, if the purpose of a birth day is to, as an example, FEEL one’s essence, then it would be far more supportive to celebrate such a day as on the day when one’s birth kin lands within any given Gregorian calendar year.

If you’re interested, i am available for a fee to do the research and identify for you the exact day (every 9 Tzolk’in Cycles) for the next ~20 years, which would be the same energetic signature as the day of your birth in the Gregorian Calendar.

These days would be the days, more so than any other, when the energetic signature would be most resonant with the essence of your individuated Self, dictated by the day/month/year you were born.

The days i identify for you will have the same energetic signature as your Gregorian birth date per the three primary energetic variables of the Tzolk’in i’ve mentioned.

Born of that Eagle Clan initiation was Council with Ken, the first of which occurred on 1/11/25—and in total, to date, there have been 8.

Each of those 8 occurred on day 1 of 13 of a new Trecena.

On Saturday 4/12/25 begins a new Trecena, day 1 of 13, in Tz’ikin: 1 Tz’ikin. The passage below is quoted from Diana’s writeup on this Trecena:

“Tz’ikin is the energy within each bird that soars the sky. Just as birds have the possibility of a broad view of their path when flying, we can ask this energy for the ability to understand where we come from and where we are going.

The Tz’ikin energy enables us to understand our past, present, and future in order to find well-being and abundance. We can think of abundance as material and energetic elements that enable us to live in harmony with the cosmos.”

…again, 4/12 is the same day-sign/Trecena as that of my Gregorian birth day.

Quite an auspicious day for me personally.
i’m grateful i sat down and rode the wave of curiosity.

Until this afternoon (pst) i wasn’t sure if i would be holding a Council with Ken on 4/12.. Other’s have invited me to consider sharing dates and details in advance of 24 hours (sometimes less) before the event…i get that; and i move at the pace of my process.

If you’ve read this article, then you’ve glimpsed a fraction of my emergent process and way of being/living, which isn’t necessarily convenient in matters of planning.

Many hours later after grief, turmoil, toil, a chat with my mom and breath i’ve decided.

In lieu of a 9th Community Council with Ken, on this auspicious day, i am choosing—for i am the central fractal pattern generator of the reality i experience—to Council with Ken(neth) in solitude and with these ancient redwoods that surround me, here in the South Bay of the San Francisco Bay area, where i’m dwelling, for now.

Sharing transparently, i’m not sure if there will be more CwK’s, as i’ve been tracking a particular tapestry of phenomena pointing to completion…completion of something.

i’ve done my absolute best to attune and listen to the non-cognitive guidance of my inner feminine and translate that as artistic aligned action by way of my inner masculine, in service to birthing reality anew—and this is where i’ve arrived.

Community Council is complete for now…if and until i am guided otherwise.

More specifically, what has revealed as i sit here breathing with these sentences is that i am complete in offering Community Council to my substack/newsletter ‘community’ or by way of my social media outlets as they exist today.

To be honest, it’s quite strange to type these words and to be with the many layers of inner happenings relative to these words…and i’ve moved through the grief and have arrived to acceptance…and the proverbial ‘fuck it’

i don’t know many things — and i know i’m done sharing into the virtual void.

i and my offerings are too precious and sacred to be cast into the life harvesting virtual void that continues to consume organic life. It is because i respect myself that i am drawing a line in the sand.

Practicing a practice that will continue to grow in relevancy and necessity, imo.

If my domain of service is to be the space between and beyond, so be it. it already is.
i exist beyond boundary; certainly beyond the bounds of any label or structure or container.

It is time once again to spread your wings wide open, and take to the skies. Soar far above the things that try to lock you down and bind you to your fears, your doubts, your anxieties. Men, or Tz’ikin in K’iche’ Maya, is the far-seeing Eagle, the great bird that soars far above the highest peaks of mountains and pyramids, high above the din of mankind, where only sacred silence and the breath of winds reign. Sweeping across vast stretches of sky on broad powerful wings, Men enters the dreams of men and women to impart important messages and revelations. Made of legend, his breadth and acuity of vision surpasses that of any other living thing, and that is why this day sign embodies vision, clarity, perception, and profound understanding.

This is the day sign that helps us see from a higher vantage point, so we may detect all the interconnections we may not have seen, and gain a larger context, a deeper perspective.

Men is the Guardian of the Sun and cosmic space, and the eloquent mediator between the opposing viewpoints of Uk’ux Kaj and Uk’ux Ulew (Heart of Sky, Heart of Earth). As the nagual of good fortune and economic well-being, Men embodies wealth, financial health and business affairs and negotiations. According to Birgitte Rasine, in her book, The Serpent and The Jaguar,
”For the Maya, Nine is “the number of life” because it represents the creation and development of human life—there are nine months of human gestation. As a result, Nine is especially associated with the ancestors and ancestral wisdom, which begs the question, were the ancient Maya matriarchal societies, or oriented toward the feminine as much as the masculine?”

As Diana Paez describes, “[9] aligns with the feminine, sensitive, and nourishing essence”

True to form, function, and facilitator, there will be a feminine, sensitive, tender and nourishing space held by a man for my Self during this 9th Council; just as i’ve done my best to do in all 8 councils thus far…that said, the last one was a bit gritty.

i’m grateful for each of the prior 8 Council’s—and for each one of you who chose to attend and add your unique flavor of beauty and goodness to the cauldron.

4/12/25 — what a day to council! …on the day that energetically coincides with the energetic signature of my personal birth kin—and the specific kin for which inspired a journey of Self-exploration on and around my Gregorian birth-day on 12/29/24; intimately weaved with what revealed to me—and shared with you—as an eagle clan initiation. This video was recorded on 11/6/2022 outside of Bellingham, Washington…minutes after my official exit from and closing of the container of a MASSIVE initiation and phenomenological Rite of Passage in/with the Cascade Mountains—disguised as a profoundly thick, rich, complex, and nuanced community living situation, which was hands down the most challenging passage and year+ of my life; inclusive of levels of stress that nearly caused me a heart attack.

i did not know if, or when i would exit…i could not see the light at the end of the tunnel; total and complete navigation in and thru a fully enveloping darkness.

It is here and then that i was required to face death and die; to be reborn a man.

To offer my life to the fire was the only way thru.

This was written a few weeks prior to my completion, amongst much else that may one day be written and published about that saga. i recall a quote i read somewhere along the lines, living it was enough, why write about it?—that’s where i’m at.

i share this track with immense tenderness in my heart; and some shock.

What is Council with Ken?

Council is an ancient practice, universal in its form and function.

a gathering of beings
circled around a fire
speaking from the heart
listening from the heart

Ingredients whose resultant alchemy provides access to a third:
a rich and fertile field of collective resource, beyond that of each individual.

…and in this case, Council with Ken.

With me, kenneth (Ken to many), as your facilitator—and referring to the word: ken - (noun) one’s range of knowledge or sight. In colloquial Scottish, ken is a direct replacement for ‘know’ as in, ‘do you ken where my keys are?’

Council with “one’s range of knowledge or sight”

Ken is a person, place or thing, which is alchemically leveraged and amplified when assembled in a ‘collective body’; a ‘body’ made of many bodies.

One’s knowledge and sight—which i would propose is a resource—is expanded by way of individual presence in the circle of Council.

Council with Ken, as architected thru my direct experience is an opportunity:

1. to cultivate and experience new pathways of body-intelligence

2. for each individual to receive novel knowledge sourced from collective intelligence thru the ‘collective body’ formed by those who have assembled

3. an opportunity to have the ‘blank space’ colored thru connection

It is my great honor to gather for Council with Ken in service to each who attends; to the circle as a whole; and to all of life touched by the ripple of our gathering.

Tomorrow we will gather for Council with Ken from 3p-5:30p pst.

3p-5p is the window governed by the Urinary Bladder Meridian, one of twelve 'Ordinary Meridians’ in Chinese Medicine.

Tomorrow we will gather in service to harmonizing with Self; with other; with life as it is; and with the web of we who gather. Together we will settle into the waters within and calmly and peacefully float down the winding river of our togetherness.

This morning i sat down and hand-wrote five pages of scribble, as my handwriting is rather wild and barely resembles english. While writing, i explored many questions, including, “what (if anything) aside from announcing the next council do i have to share in this message?”

An inquiry inspired by the seeming fact that i had nothing else to share.

as is often the case, writing revealed new depths of clarity to a nebulous introspective inquiry—and that, in fact, there was more than met the eye of emptiness.

Those of you reading my posts have witnessed the ongoing thematic development of my connection with the Tzolk’in calendar—and specific to Council with Ken, the association with the 13-day Trecena periods, which are a structural aspect of the divine design of the calendar.

In the announcement message for the prior Council with Ken, i mentioned Birgitte Racine and her reference to the 13-day period from 1/24/25 - 2/5/25 as the Trecena of Introspection. Further, she calls the period from 2/6/25 - 2/18/25 as the Trecena of Authority¹

Below is the Tzolk’in info for 2/6 from Tzolk’in Explorer. The day-sign is the Nahual of Oc / Tz’i (in K’iche) and too begins a 13-day period in the Trecena of Oc.

As i wrote this morning, i inquired:

“What do i have to share about introspection or authority?”
“nothing, but does this mean i have nothing to share?”
…of course not!

What i noticed was a curiosity, a pulse of interest, in the space between introspection and authority. The space between the end of introspection and the beginning of authority. What connects introspection and authority?

i wondered how introspection may birth authority—and wandered in writing to explore.

While writing earlier today, i wasn’t very interested in speaking on either introspection or authority; they both felt flat to me; so too the Nahauls and Trecenas.

During these 13-days i’ve not really studied or read or researched or done much of anything with the Tzolk’in… as i’ve been so consumed with, in and by the depths of my own multi-dimensional experience.

Again, i was interested in what is between introspection and authority.

Contemplating the matter brought me to neither, a space between, connected by both.

…and the in between is a space i’ve studied and lived full-time through direct experience; birthing my role as a life-passages guide***

i only read this while drafting this message—and how apropos.

i am aware that i am not an authority on the Tzolk’in calendar. i am a student, learning, thru direct experience/exploration, some of which you are witnessing.

i am learning thru exploring the space between what i know and what i don’t know.
what i know i know and what i don’t know i don’t know.
and all the places and spaces between all the places and spaces.

It is through inquiry and introspection that i discovered my interest in the space between (while writing); a space i know well through my unique life journey of Self-actualization and embodiment.

Anything other than what i’ve actualized or embodied i am not an authority on.

i am only an authority on what is mine, and what is mine is what i’ve actualized through my lived experience.

and even that isn’t mine.

i do not own what i’ve actualized or experienced.

i share what i steward,
which is life lived.

i don’t actually know, thru direct experience, if Oc/Tz’i is about authority, guidance or counsel; but it seems others know that, through their direct experience.

…and what i discovered is this is at the heart of why i was not interested in writing about the Nahuals or Trecena’s, for as i shared in my prior announcement, “i’ve not yet lived long enough with the Nahauls to speak on them at length; as my relationship is only just beginning, at least in this life of remembrance.”

i’m not one to take on and assume others knowledge as fact; as life has revealed the enormity of distortion underpinning much knowledge; inclusive of ancient knowledge.

i sit with the fire.

i let the fire that I AM purify and reveal to me; thru me; thru my life; what is true—and what is relevant and for me; for what i am here to do and who i am here to be.

in writing i discovered, through the authority sourced from inner gnosis, that i choose not to ‘take on’ others knowledge as authority; a condition of containment that has supported this particular exploration, sharing, and tapestry of revelation(s).

Authentic is defined as, “what is of undisputed origin; genuine.”

What i have shared with you here is authentic, authenticated by the one writing—an individuated expression of the One writing.

Influenced and inspired, in part, by others knowledge; an influence and impact i’ve done my best to purify at the fire of my being.

As i go down and in,
authenticity goes up and out.

The inaugural Council with Ken convened 13 days ago on January 11th.

As shared previously, the Tzolk’in Nahual for 1/11 was K’an, which comes from the word for Kukulkán, the feathered serpent. 1/11 also marked the first day of a new 13-day trecena period also governed by K’an.

i’m profoundly grateful for all who attended, seen and unseen; what a soul-nourishing and deeply satisfying gathering it was!

Our time together marked both an inaugural ceremony for Council with Ken and—as gracefully revealed thru Council—a ceremonial honoring of the Spirit of the Eagle.

This gathering, in part, catalyzed a timely and potent honoring of fire.

Today, the day i am sharing this message with you, is the 13th day of this 13 day K’an trecena period.

Czech-American author Birgitte Rasine refers to the 13-day period we are completing today as the Trecena of Freedom and Fertility.

Contemplating the past 13-days through this lens may assist you in synthesizing and integrating the many threads of happenings of this rich and lush period.

As i contemplate the 13 days past, very simply, because there was a lot; i see 13 days of labor intensive collecting/freeing of seeds of possibility—at times with hot and cold sweats—and a planting of those seeds in a fertile field of possibility.

i’ve not yet lived long enough with the Nahauls to speak on them at length; as my relationship is only just beginning, at least in this life of remembrance.

That said, a very superficial study will reveal that Caban is the Mayan word for Earth; where the root ‘cab/kab’ refers to ground.

i’ve facilitated a number of council’s in recent weeks and i’m consistently awestruck by the magic that reveals in the space between what is shared. silence speaks too.

As i shared, i’ve been holding and gestating this offering for many months and it is now time to officially inaugurate the container, care of this Eagle Clan Initiation that i’ve been moving through since 12/29.

1/11 is Kin #144, which adds to 9 and 9 is a number of completion. This event, as i’m being informed via my direct experience, completes this Eagle Initiation that began (for me) on 12/29, day 1 of the 13-day cycle of Chuen/Monkey.

The Tzolk’in Nahual day sign for 1/11 is K’an — the feathered serpent. 1/11 also marks the first day of a new 13-day trecena period also governed by K’an…

The element of K’an is fire—as is the element of Men/Eagle of which is my birth kin day sign/trecena period, as i shared in Chapter 3.

For me personally, tomorrow is an especially potent day of fire…that said, i’m already feeling it. Today has been an intense day, with lots of breath and spinal care, to soften the intensity of what feels like primordial fire, flowing lava.

i also chose 11am-1pm pst, as that is the time that is governed by the heart meridian—one of the 12 ordinary meridians—in Chinese medicine.

Chapter 5: Return to 1ness

We end where we began,
with the One.

On October 19th, 2024 i entered Oregon after an extremely complex, challenging, and confronting 8-week chapter in California. While it's tempting to share more on that chapter—and the chapter that led into that chapter; and that chapter...ad infinitum—it's beyond the scope of this article and would require its own container. That said, it was during that California chapter, when i received this transmission from the Narwhales.

“So [back to Oregon'], i'm cruising on the I5 (primary highway that runs the span of the west coast) and feel exhausted; more like 'spent', but i'm also feeling rather enlivened by three magical and mystical days at Harbin Hot Springs, during the full moon on October 17th, 2024.

When i'm about two hours to my destination, i pull into a rest area for a bathroom and scroll break and see a post announcing that Barrett Lee Tegner has passed; and there would be a memorial in his hometown of Corvallis, Oregon on November 9th.

“Clearly Barrett chose his moment to transition; and clearly it is destined for me to attend, with my Eagle flute; joined by the Eagle Clan,” i thought."

i played this eagle flute at my dad's funeral as well as at the end of life memorial in Topanga, California in June of 2020 for my dear friend Daniel Tyler Pohnke.

i put Barrett’s event in my calendar, while i literally sat, breathed, and noticed the energetic ripples which resulted from the discovery of his passing.

Unfortunately though, i put the event in my calendar for November 10th, not the 9th...

Two days prior to the event, i went onto facebook to check the post for event details and to investigate the possibility of playing my Eagle flute at the event. i could have inquired weeks earlier, but no, i waited until two nights prior to the event.

i’m glad i checked at all, for i discovered the event was the following morning, and not in two days. i felt relieved and grateful i followed the nudge. i left a comment offering to play flute and immediately received a direct message from Barrett's mother.

We started chatting and shared a heartfelt few minutes of connection. i shared with her that i had never met Barrett in person, nor ever spoken with him offline; we shared a handful of brief exchanges on messenger. Nonetheless, there was an essence of love and intimacy that transcended time and space in our exchanges.

i strongly felt i was to play the flute at the memorial and perhaps even read the eagle prayer that came through two nights prior. She shared the schedule was packed (literally and proverbially) and printed; so no flute.

On the day of, i absolutely had to play the flute, the eagles were screaming. While i was getting ready; the drive there; and during the memorial itself i felt the presence of countless eagles.

They were loud and so too was Barrett; colorful, bright, vivacious, of a rare quality of angelic being in human form.

His angelic essence was made palpable throughout—and for me, especially as the pastor read letter-after-letter from people around the world sharing how Barrett had impacted them. Tears flowed down my face throughout, i was absolutely astounded and awed by this man's impact on others; and the exquisite nuance and precision of articulation in which that impact was communicated in these letters…each was a unique frequential transmission; heart after heart massaging heart. i, fellllllltttttttt so much.

My tears were also tears of gratitude, for i was feeling at a depth i had never felt until then, my impact on others, care of Barrett. In Oneness i experienced his impact as my impact and was invited by him to simply breath and sit in the intensity. To literally breath and receive into every cell of my being the experience of my impact on others.

Not in thought or as an idea, but from within via direct experience. i was gifted the opportunity to receive the energetics of what would be transmitted if i, kenneth, were being celebrated in such a way. In this experience, there was no difference; it wasn’t about who or what or how; so much as the frequencies made available in this cauldron of acknowledgement and celebration care of Barrett.

His impact was my impact was our impact; the impact of life making love with life at emotional depths i had never felt until this profound experience…

deeper and deeper i went…into the waters where the eldest whales gather.

After a few letters i felt saturated, like i would implode if another were read. i wanted for it to end—and at the same time prayed for it to continue on forever.

Each letter was an exquisite symphony to behold and receive. Absolutely perfect, whole, and complete in its unique contribution to the alchemy of the whole.

Letter after letter, for what i imagine was around 30 to 45 minutes… i listened to one heart after another poetically share of Barrett’s impact, while he was alive.

Paradoxically, as is often the case in my life, Barrett’s greatest impact and medicine for me, Kenneth, came on the day his life was being celebrated.

Ironically, it was after he transitioned and at his memorial, when i felt the greatest connection to Barrett—and here i received the depth and potency of his medicine; the medicine uniquely crafted by him for me; by the Self for the Self in Oneness.

It took me a while to arrive home as the fabric of time warped and dilated. When i returned, with a setting sun looming on the horizon, i quickly found a place in the forest and setup my tripod. The eagles needed to sing before the sun set; it was critical…and i needed to move quickly.

This was their time to speak, Eagle Speak, and my moment to sing their message through this special walnut flute, handcrafted by my dear brother Adan.

..and so i did; as the day became night.

On November 7th, i attended a fundraising event in Portland, Resilience for Appalachia, which featured Max Ribner’s Resilient Beings Community Song Experience.

There was a certain moment during the event, when everyone was loose and limber, about 2/3rds of the way through, when i felt the presence and frequency of the Eagles.

i got my phone out and typed, Welcoming Eagle, and then put it back down.

Some minutes later, while i and everyone was deep in the singing and swaying, i shifted down to a chair and began ‘working out’ the message i was sensing; translating and massaging the frequencies into the words that felt most congruent.

i imagined i would be speaking into a microphone the words along with the eagle flute, but that was not what was in the cards for this evening.

i did attend the Resilient Beings Community Song Experience a week later in Bend, Oregon and did close out the community event with a potent impromptu flute transmission—and it was with one of my other flutes, not the Eagle flute.

From November 12-18th, i visited a friend in Bend, Oregon, and stayed in a tipi on her land… “8-days/7-nights of living amongst Juniper; tipi + fire + cold immersion + hiking + flute/didge + elemental attunement and deep listening”

Apparently i needed a week to clean-up; and re-wild and dissolve some domesticated constructs i had developed over the weeks and months prior.

One evening while sitting with a fire in the tipi, i received the inspiration to combine the flute playing from the day of Barrett’s memorial with the eagle transmission. So i followed the call and while the winds howled and the fire crackled outside, i sat with my laptop and edited and mixed the two.

My intention was to share it a few days later on the full moon of November 15th, but did not, because my presence was required elsewhere; at a divinely orchestrated appointment to support a father and son i had just met to connect in a new way.

For weeks i was holding onto the video, wanting to post, but it never felt right…that is until after the solstice and after the great celestial serpent transmission…it was then i felt the ‘yes’. My intention was to share a sequence of stories on instagram on 12/29, with some specific points, which had revealed to me in the 6-weeks since 11/15.

On 12/29 i had a multi-hour and multi-dimensional conversation with my brother, in which amongst many matters discussed, he implored me to share, whatever was available to share; a loving nudge essentially—and a share was already brewing. We hung up, i ate, and flowed my way into ‘making’.

Yet, between the convo with my bro and the fairly consistent somatic contraction i experience when i attempt to share ‘big transmissions’ (or anything really) on social, i realized quickly something else was taking shape, so i shifted over to another app and began typing—and that is how this ‘article/series’ began on that day…

After a few hours of writing, before the clock struck 12/30, i hopped onto instagram to make a ‘solar cycle’ post. i decided to post the ‘eagle transmission’, which had been sitting in my drafts for many weeks with a simple message, despite the prior vision of a sequence of stories. This was one of those moments when less was more!

With only a few minutes left on 12/29/24 pst, i posted that video with this message:

“12/29/24…today marked the completion of one solar cycle and the start of another for me—led by two eagles…time to fly with “welcoming eagle” and the feathered One(s). My gift to you, pause on the scrolling and receive as fits—and a gentle nudge to share if aligned. Regardless, the impact has already rippled across time and space and far beyond the virtual boundaries of this digital matrix. 🦅 🎉🦅”

i literally had no idea this series is what was to be,
born of surrender to the mys-tery.

i had sensed the stories i intended to post were of great significance—and the Eagle medicine—and it’s been quite a wild experience to see how the felt-sense (and initial plan for a few stories) translated into this Sol® Ser•Men #131 article(s).

i’ll be offering a very special (2-hour) event at 1pm pst this coming Saturday, 1/11/25, called Council with Ken. i’ve been holding and gestating the vision for many months and it is now time to officially inaugurate the container, care of this Eagle Clan initiation. The day sign for 1/11 is Kan — the feathered serpent. The weavings and alignments are profound and continue to reveal themselves to me… all signs point to the day of Kan. i’ll share more tonight or tomorrow—and for now, heads up, there’s 11 seats…message me if interested.

Chapter 3: Birth K'en

With the introduction to the Tzolk'in in Chapter 2, we now have the scaffolding in place for me to share with you my personal Tzolk'in information and for it to be received in a good way; in a way that serves the larger Eagle theme of this series.

Drum roll please...here is the day-sign, Trecena # and ruling Trecena sign for the date of my birth on 12/29/xx:

My 'Mayan birth kin' is:
1 Men/Tz'ikin/Eagle

1 (Galactic Tone above) corresponds to the first day of the 13-days of the Trecena. The day sign is Men/Tz'ikin/Eagle. For that 13-day Trecena period, of which this was the first day, the ruling Trecena Nahual was also Men/Tz'ikin.

The Galactic Tone is another label for the number of the day within the 13-day Trecena Period. Like everything else, that number isn't just a number, but a lens into an entire body of wisdom that weaves with the other threads. For example, #1 speaks to themes of unity, origins, creation, and beginnings.

In my words, i entered thru the birth portal on the day of Eagle during a 13-day period governed by Eagle. Further, the day i entered this dimension was 1 of those 20 days during a 260 day Tzolk'in cycle when the day-sign and Trecena sign are the same (as i discussed in Chapter 2).

As shared earlier, such only happens on the first day of any 13-day Trecena period. Because i like math, there's a 7.7% chance anyone would have a day and ruling trecena sign that are the same.

Further, only once in any given 260-cycle will the day-sign and ruling trecena sign both be eagle. The chance of being born on that day is .38% and that's just what happened when i chose to enter the stage on the Gregorian date of 12/29/xx.

As an aside, we saw this too on 12/29/24, the day i initiated writing this article series:

The day sign would be written "1 Chuen" and is in the 13-day Trecena period of Chuen. The day and trecena sign were both Chuen/Monkey, which is the only day in the 260-day cycle this will happen, until such occurs again in the next 260 day Tzolk'in cycle.

Again, this was the 1st day of the (new) 13-day Trecena period, hence galactic tone of 1, the same galactic tone as my birth kin; further accentuating the energy of new beginnings and creation, which was the energy that served to catalyze this article; on the very day i was celebrating the beginning of a new solar cycle in the Gregorian Calendar!

Quite profound, isn't it?! 12/29/24 is further 'unique' in that in this particular 260-day cycle it is Kin 131 ...this day is the first (1) day of the second half of the cycle. Below is a graphic/chart that is used for charting any 260-day Tzolk'in Cycle. There's a lot going on here and despite the temptation, i'm going to leave out the explanation. What i want is for you to simply notice where Kin 131 is located...zoom out and simply notice the symmetry of this day's position.

what a miracle I AM, as is each of us.

i truly wish for every one reading this to feel as awed by the perfection of your individuated being, as i do mine...and may you discover the language that supports such knowing.

Returning to the subject of my birth kin,

it's no coincidence i have a particular affinity to the energetics—and embodied energetic signature/essence—of the Eagle, which continues to reveal itself to me in the most magical and mysterious of ways as i experience life and deepen in intimacy with Self.

An intimacy and intimate and ever deepening conversation with life that far transcends my capacity to articulate with language...and paradoxically, there's some eagle themed personal sharing that wants to happen in this article. Of course my life has been as [insert adjective of choice] as it has, for i, kenneth, am destined to embody and express the essence of Eagle...the training began long before i entered this plane of existence.

Here's some relevant snippets from various sources that i find resonant with the essence of energetics i've tapped into as i continue to be initiated by life to carry, offer, be and become the medicine of my very eagle-like being.

The Mediator Between Earth and Sky:

"Men, or Tz’ikin in K’iche’ Maya, is the far-seeing Eagle, the great bird that soars far above the highest peaks of mountains and pyramids, high above the din of mankind, where only sacred silence and the breath of winds reign.  Sweeping across vast stretches of sky on broad powerful wings, Men enters the dreams of men and women to impart important messages and revelations.  

Made of legend, his breadth and acuity of vision surpasses that of any other living thing, and that is why this day-sign embodies vision, clarity, perception, and profound understanding.  

Men is the Guardian of the Sun and cosmic space, and the eloquent mediator between the opposing viewpoints of Uk’ux Kaj and Uk’ux Ulew (Heart of Sky, Heart of Earth). Men’s animal totems are the eagle and maq’uq’, the sacred quetzal bird.³"

"According to Maya legend, the sun was an Eagle and one of the most powerful day signs...

in Mesoamerican myth, everything has two aspects or faces, so the Eagle carries the symbolism of the moon as well as the sun. On the one hand, a young moon goddess represents budding and flowering, and on the other hand, an old moon goddess represents ancient wisdom. The Yucatec word “Men” means “the wise one.”

This lunar goddess was also called Eagle Woman as she wore a headdress of eagle feathers. According to Kenneth Johnson in Jaguar Wisdom, “Thus sun and moon, male and female, combine in one archetype: When the sun rises, he is ‘soaring eagle’; when the sun sets, he is ‘falling eagle’.

The moon wears the sun in her hair. The Eagle is the sign of the spiritual warrior, whose heart is pure like the heart of the sun; but underneath the bright and shining glory of the daytime sun lies an older, subtler archetype of quiet wisdom: First Mother, the moon, the crone of wisdom.⁴"

"The name derives from Tz’i, the Authority, and Q’in, Father sun. In other words, Tz’ikin is the Sun’s authority, the representation of the Father of Earth.⁵"

This quote is the key that helped me to unlock the Eagle Code that was hidden in plain sight within the title. i'll share that again and now it may make more sense.

Chapter 2 — The Tzolk'in Calendar

The subject matter of this article is the 'Sacred Calendar' known as the Tzolk'in, part of a larger calendrical system, often associated specifically with the Mayas though was used by most, if not all, ancient cultures of Mesoamerica. So says a variety of sources i've read.

To begin, i'm called to acknowledge, i am by no means an authority on the Maya Calendar(s) or Maya timekeeping, nor have i trained with or been initiated by a Maya Daykeeper (yet) – i am simply a student sharing his learnings.

This December, i've found myself in an unexpectedly passionate and immersive exploration of Maya timekeeping, despite years of keeping a distance from various forms of 'reference and mapping systems'. As is often the case, i'm guided and moved to where i am to study/explore, so as to support the process that i am being moved and birthed through.

Initially, i did not know why the interest and curiosity, in fact, i still don't. i'm very simply following the inspiration, prompts, and doing the research as guided...one things leads to the next, and the next...many know this way.

The more i study and grasp the mechanics of the Maya calendrical system the more awed i am by eloquence and beauty of the design. For me, Maya timekeeping provides an intriguing and awe inspiring glimpse into the Divine architect/ure of nature and the inherent natural rhythm and cycles of life; through a lens that is resonant with my unique makeup—and honestly, it's refreshing.

An important note, before we drop in.

Because i know who I AM—beginningless, endless, and eternal—this is but one (personally resonant) angle of confirmation. An enjoyable and interesting and [countless adjectives] body of knowledge/system that serves to affirm and color my direct lived experience and what i already know to be the true. Maya timekeeping is/has been a critical ingredient in this Eagle/Eagle Clan initiation and for that and much else, i'm very grateful.

i honor, respect, and appreciate the many angles and angels of perspective—and the countless facets through which one may glimpse and connect with essence. For example, the little people allude to the oceanic mythopoetic lens in their comment, "MerMan SerMen", which has been a HUGE archetypical architecture for me.

God making God ooo and ahh!

One of the original Maya calendars—and not just used by the Mayas, but by most, if not all ancient cultures of Mesoamerica—is the CholQ'ij (Kiche language) or more commonly called the Tzolk'in (Yucatecan languages).

"[It is a] “ritual almanac” of 260 days, comprised of 20 symbolic day signs and a series of 13 numbers (13 x 20 = 260)¹, "very much in the same way our months consist of the association of 7 week days (Monday to Sunday) and 28, 29, 30 or 31 numerals (for example Friday the 13th which is the 13th day of the month and the 5th day of the week).

Each [calendar] day is uniquely designated by the combination “coefficient/day-name”, and not until every single one of the numbers 1 through 13 had been attached to every one of the 20-day names was the cycle complete. It would take 260 solar days to complete...[and] a particular combination will not recur until 260 days have elapsed."²

The 20 day names are unique and each has an associated glyph called a Nahual/Nawal, which represents a spirit animal or energetic archetype. The 13-day period is called a Trecena and to reiterate there are 20 x 13-day Trecena Periods, each one of those 20 x 13-day periods having an associated Nahual.

If you're confused, that's ok, i was too—and i'm going to explain. Take a look at this graphic below of the 20 Day Names and 13 numbers/days in a Trecena Period. The number in front of each day sign simply refers to the day number, which is its position in the 20 day sequence. Day 2 comes before day 3, etc.

So, let's make this practical. The current 260 day cycle we are in began on 8/21/24. On that day, referred to as "Kin 1" or "Day 1", the day sign/name was 1 Imix, which corresponds to the first of twenty Nahual's from the list above, see?

Further, the Trecena number (or coefficient) is 1, as 8/21/24, Kin 1, was also the first day of the first 13-day Trecena period. Each 13-day Trecena is ruled by the same Nahual. The 13-days spanning from 8/21 - 9/2 were all ruled by the same Trecena Nahual, in this case Imix/Crocodile, which is the first of twenty nahuals that sequence thru the 20 x 13 Trecena Periods.

i imagine most who are reading this may be confused (hopefully you're not), but if you are, let's switch to a more visual approach. This will definitely make the material easier to comprehend. I love making spreadsheets, so i seized the opportunity to do so!

The spreadsheet below has 5 colums:

1. the date (in typical Gregorian fashion)

2. Tzolk'in Day (there's 260 of them)

3. Day Name (there's 20 of them, see above)

4. Trecena # (there's 13 of them, see above)

5. Trecena Nahual (the same 20 as the Day Sign Nahual's, but they sequence in a different order than the day name sequence).

As quoted at the start of this chapter, "each [calendar] day is uniquely designated by the combination “coefficient/day-name” – with 'coefficient' referring to the Trecena number.

8/21/24: 1 Imix (ruled by the Trecena Nahual of Imix)
8/26/24: 6 Cimi (ruled by the Trecena Nahual of Imix)
8/30/24: 10 Oc (ruled by the Trecena Nahual of Imix)
9/4/24: 2 Men (ruled by the Trecena Nahual of Ix)
9/10/24: 8 Imix (ruled by the Trecena Nahual of Ix)

Even though 8/21 and 9/10 are both the day sign of Imix, 8/21 was day #1 and was ruled by the Trecena Nahual of Imix, while 9/10 was day #8 and was ruled by the Trecena Nahaul of Ix. This is just one facet of the detail and nuance of variation that is available for exploration and contemplation as one deepens into the mechanics of this calendrical system.

Note: If you were to look up the info for 9/18/24 (Kin 29) in an app or site, you would see: '3 Muluc'. While the day sign is 9 Muluc (the 9th of 20 day names from the Day Name graphic above), the trecena day number is 3. As shared, it is the trecena day number that precedes the day sign; hence '3 Muluc', not '9 Muluc'

Notice the day sign sequences from 1-20 and then starts again at 1? That's the turning of the day-sign wheel, as it's cyclical.

Also notice the Trecena # sequences from 1-13 and then starts again at 1? Again, a wheel, with a cycle...and that each 13-day cycle has a single ruling Nahual?

The first 13-day Trecena period is ruled by the first trecena nahual, Imix. When the second 13-day period began it shifted to Ix; the third, Manik; and so on. The order of appearance/sequence of the governing trecena nahual's is different than the order of appearance/sequence of day sign nahual's.

This would be where i would share that sequence, but i won't. You can research it yourself and/or you're welcome to email me if you'd like me to share with you.

Fast forward (rewind now) to, 12/29/24 (the date i began writing) has a trecena # (1) and day sign (Chuen/monkey)—and ruling Trecena Nahual (Chuen/monkey) for the 13-day period it falls within.

12/29/24 is special too, as it's 1 of 20 days in the 260-day cycle when both the day sign and the Trecena sign are the same, both in this case are Monkey. i read somewhere that to the Maya, the monkey represents the weaver, the weaver of time...and here i am weaving with words about time, how apropos.

As an aside, for those curious, the 20 days of the calendar cycle when the day sign/Trecena sign are the same, all fall on the first day of each of the 20 x 13-day Trecena Periods. You can see this in my spreadsheet above as happened on 8/21, 9/3 and 9/16; dates which were precisely 13 days apart.

On the subject, here's another thread for the weaving.

One of my nicknames as a toddler was "Monkey Boy" because i loved to climb on everything. Today an older Monkey Man is writing on 1-Chuen/monkey (in the Trecena period of Chuen/monkey) about timekeeping and how that supports the expression of—and confirms his path of embodying—the essence of his being, which in this maya calendrical context is that of 1-Men/Tzik'in, which i'll expand upon further in the next chapter.

If you're interested to translate your Gregorian birth date into the Tzolk'in calendar to determine your "Birth Kin" and to see your trecena-number/period sign and day-sign, here is a site to do that.

My innerstanding of the Mayan Calendar/timekeeping is rather "structural" at the moment as i continue to drink in the warmth and richness of the poetic substance that fills the structural/mechanical framework.

Regardless my studies have served to harvest unique gems of insight, some of which i'm sharing here, at least peripherally as there is nuance i yet have language for. Further, there's seemingly infinite layers of depth to the system; and discoveries to be made—and i've literally only just shared an elementary introduction here, albeit a rather comprehensive one.

...and this may be as far as i go with my study and sharing, time shall tell.

The subject matter of Maya Calendar(s)/timekeeping (and the system itself) is quite layered and given this there's much mis-information, literally, a world of maya (distortions and illusions) and info simply lost in translation.

Like anything, do your homework to develop your own felt-sense of the landscape of Maya timekeeping and/or consult with someone you've determined is credible and deserving of your trust.

i've done my best to keep this introduction to the Tzolk'in as simple as possible, albeit with a definite technical flare, inspired by my engineering background.

i'm holding the voltage of the whole—and there's a high current that is flowing through my wiring right now—as the parts are crafted and reveal themselves to me as the chapters. i am the alchemist, the alchemy, and the result of the alchemy.

My intention in writing this article, which i began on the evening of 12/29/24, is to respond to the calling and guidance to reveal.

To provide an opportunity to view; and to let be seen (as much as is available in this moment) the ornately carved man known as Kenneth—and thru the seeing, provide you with a glimpse of the I AM that is, was, and forever will be; the great universal I that indwells within each of us.

"12/29/2024 is an auspicious day for countless reasons. In the past 24 hours alone there have been 18 M and 1 X class solar flares...quite potent solar happenings these past days and weeks.

Today marks both the completion and beginning of a new Solar Cycle for me, Kenneth. The 29th of December is the date that is celebrated as my day of entry into this earthly plane.

On this auspicious day, i've been called to share some about myself...and i honestly don't yet know where this is going to take me, as it's truly mysterious, aside from a few points i'm specifically called to share about."

I AM surrendered to this birthing process and portal; and to the alchemy and initiation born of fire.

I AM here, because of an inner calling to reveal the shining light of the Self whom i've come to know through the deepest relationship of my life; the one with life, where all the happenings of life, is Self in conversation with Self.

For more than 20 years my life has been dominated by rigorous, intensive and scrupulous inner-work, self-discovery, awakening, and embodiment in service to building and anchoring a foundation of peace within and without; as the basis of whatever else is to be experienced and expressed in this One Life.

Amongst many treasures, i steward a library, which is a living tapestry of tales and stories, any of which could be shared at any given moment in service to those whom have gathered to listen and receive the gifts available from my years of intensive and ongoing radical phenomenological initiations and rites of passage.

My life has been, in the past and until now, at least a 9 layered coconut cake of multi-dimensional inner/outer life happenings—sprinkled with sweet perplexing paradox; staggering depths of enigma; and strange binds and holds of all sorts...and it seems hard work pays off and that there is light at the end of the tunnel, as something new and different is taking shape.

Beyond the living library, there's the perpetual alchemy of being...

i aim to meet and greet my Self anew through this process of exploration through writing and the sharing that results; and in the process receive the gift of delight and marvel of beholding the uniquely architected living alchemical cauldron known as Kenneth.

On the subject of revealing...i've been so deeply immersed in the depths of the waters of life—at times doing everything (with the power/resources i did have) not to drown—that i've not necessarily had the space, bandwidth, inspiration or available resources required to actually share even a tiny fraction of what could be shared...it was more about the next stroke and the next and the next...and to a degree still is, though there's difference, albeit very subtle.

i too have grappled with this very juxtaposition for a long while; the desire to show up and to share; and yet an inherent restriction to pursue that desire, for life necessitated my presence in the living, tending, navigating, and 'figuring out' how to simply be with the sheer scope and magnitude of the depth of my experience.

Paradoxically, i've shared (and share) when appropriate, which most often has occurred in direct experiences/engagements with others as/when i've heard the call to share whatever was poking at me to be shared...often this was simply the natural emergent sharing that happens thru various contexts of relating...and however deep there was always manifold more depth...beyond.

Life is now inviting me, demanding of me, through my own evolutionary process, to step up; to pull back the curtains and to reveal more of my Self—and slowly but surely, brick by brick, i'm building the structures within/without to do so. So as to be of service to the individuals and communities whom i am here to serve, as a pioneer and leader; for that is what is natural for me, regardless of how far i may drift into the seas of solitudinal Self-discovery, exploration, and inner-adventure.

It's not more comfortable to avoid the call to show up, as much as it's familiar to avoid the call to show up in a way that differs from what has been. i'm not necessarily seeking to be in position of power or to lead and yet, Life and Eagle Speak—& i am attentively listening and responding, for it is more painful not to.

...and that is why i'm here and 'in it' because it is what is required of me.

i speak from direct experience and if i haven't directly experienced something then i won't speak about it. it's then beyond my ken.

It was the direct experience of navigating what was (and is) quite often an overwhelmingly nuanced life, which inspired this section from my website.

Like others, my inner experience has been so deep, dark, complex and divergent from most (commonly all) around me, that at times (most of my life) the raw substance of my experience was either just beyond language; beyond my skill to articulate; or my ability to translate to others. Because of this, only a fraction of what could be shared, could be shared.

...and then theres the good ol' nervous system and safety and belonging (or lack thereof) and trauma/wiring; and the impact of everything that happened and is happening—from the beginning to present—on one's physiology and to what degree they can or can't access the physiology that is required, necessitates and is a pre-requisite for one's ability to actually fucking speak...to literally access the bio-mechanic design features that allow for one to use the voice box to utter sound, using language, that is comprehensible by others...and then what about shame, from within or without and it's impact on one's voice?

This paragraph could be it's own essay.

i have a knack for expression and writing, despite my own limitations, which are real; a skill i continue to hone and refine, so as to increase my ability to bridge and connect from deeper and vaster dimensions of Self...to give voice to 'what else?' and 'what more?'

Regardless, what i share is but the tip of the massive iceberg in the infinite ocean of Self. There's always more; more nuance; more detail; more layers; more dimension; more language; more, more, more.

...and there's so much i've not and don't have language for...and the ache and pain of that now fuels the exploration of new pathways of expression.

This ongoing exploration of translating raw energy and pure awareness into the language of form is what has inspired my exploration of sound-craft and poetry; with the flutes, didgeridoo, voice, and various audio expressions (and there's far more that i have yet to share/post).

Silence
Silence too is my friend
sometimes less is more.

Silence speaks,
and it says....

My truth—and i certainly didn't always believe this, which made life 1,000x more difficult—is that everything has always been perfect; and all that was required was available, for what could be expressed and lived at the time.

The dams are coming down and the rivers are flowing again, within, after aeons of stagnation; and this article series is a result and confirmation of that very fact.

I AM the flowers that flourish along the river bank, bathed in the nutrients life intended for me to receive.

Who i've become is the man that can go on this specific journey, and has access to the resources required to do so. It is because of my rigorous cleansing/clearing and rewiring practices and lifestyle; and devotional tending of the waters and waterways within that i am now available for this journey.

I AM available to sing/write into being whatever this particular child of mine is to be, which is beyond my knowing—and it will certainly be something beautiful and unique that has never been, as is always the case when one is living in the spontaneous; and ever emergent mystery of life anew.

i'm doing everything i can to narrow the gap; between the experience of the alchemy and the result of the alchemy...and perhaps it's the design of the mystery for the pot to be covered for periods of time...so as to contain the creation until it is ready to be served.

Who truly knows what is happening in the cauldron when it's covered?

i've been told countless times on my journey—many times from those closest and dearest to me—that i take up too much space...classic...and yet, true...that said, does the infinite take up too much space? Does God take up too much space? Does the Cedar or Oak tree take up too much space?

Of course there's nuance to such space-taking statement...and again, wild, wet and messy shit storms, doing my best to get through the initiation of a lifetime, prepping me for the next one...impacting in various ways those around me, while also doing my best to minimize the impact and shrapnel...all the while knowing that i am serving, in the most divinely orchestrated way, even and especially when it's not yet and maybe never will be apparent to those around me how...

That is living in the fucking paradox my friends; and it's a strenuous and burdensome responsibility that most often remains hidden in plain sight. While everyone else is being celebrated such a role most often leads to being ostracized.

i take accountability for my mess—and impact on others—i acknowledge that for a long time i simply did not have the internal architecture in place to hold myself in my experience without spilling over onto others. In that way i did take up too much space and was 'too much'.

i was too much for me.
Life was too much for me.

That said, i've become rather talented at ship maintenance and sealing leaks :) so as to ensure sea-worthiness for whatever the next passage may bring or require of me and my vessel.

times are different, i am different, this vessel is different. Ashe.

I'm grateful for all those who've danced with me...your willingness to receive me at the depth you had the capacity to, your kindness, compassion, care, presence, love...and willingness to swim with me through my stuff; and the stuff of relating. The family, mentors, teachers, healing service providers, friends, partners, and others who weave(d) with me when they did at the various stages of the never-ending spiralic journey.

I’ve done my best to 'clean-up' and the fact there may be mess that i’m not aware of or have not accounted for relationally, is the school grounds for self-compassion. Paradoxically all is accounted for and held within the One Life, as all is Divinely Orchestrated and that includes the stuff that does not 'make sense'.

"What i don't have the capacity to contain now, becomes the mess i need to clean up later; that is if i take responsibility for clean up."

To increase capacity is to minimize the need clean up later.

"The more i can hold the less i'll be prone to drops"
...and sometimes the 'drops' are exactly what is necessary to rise 'ups'.

Rising up and 'cleaning up' is, in my experience, a lifelong process that demands one to upgrade and update the software coding and hardware wiring, so as to increase the coherence of the architecture that contains/embodies refined light.

Meaning in the process of evolving how Self is assembled one will increase their capacity to hold/harness and channel the current of life, mana, chi and in doing close the gap to minimize the mess that needs later clean up.

As the gap closes there's less and less to clean up, until nothing remains, but a fortified foundation upon which life is built.

That all said, this is my space and i can take up as much as i desire and choose; in whatever way i choose; this is my container of expression.

Who do you think you are Ken to assist ‘old souls’ of all ages; from all walks of life; whom are navigating in and through the liminal waters of divinely orchestrated circumstantial constellations of initiation?

Who do you think you are Ken to usher the ancient ones through the birth process orchestrated by the organizational intelligence of life—to the shores of the life that beckons?

...from where does your authority come to do any of this?

Such questions require context.

For example, even when i lived for 3-months in spring '24 in solitude and essentially isolated; in a cute renovated stone cottage; in an extremely rural area of S. France, i was still assisting the ancient ones and assisting all of life (and land).

This cottage you see below is surrounded by and in the largest (second growth) Acacia forest in Europe. The original forest was clear cut to provide the wood required for scaffolding of the shafts and drifts of the the now abandoned and decommissioned MASSIVE coal mine that's beneath the forest.

The house i dwelled in was the former 'dining hall' for the employees of the mines. Suffice to say, my presence there was orchestrated by life for a specific collaborative healing process/initiation of which my entire life prior had prepared me for.

In this way, as is always the case, 'my authority' to serve came from life itself...a phenomenological validation that i and my 'skill set'/medicine bag were precisely the source thru which source could re(source) the people and land of this place.

Life cherry picked and orchestrated the entire thing; and it was a deep dark, dusty, and at times nearly suffocating psycho-emotional descent into places and spaces that required presence.

There was no light at the end of the tunnel. i had to access the light and bring the light by becoming the light.

You know what is made of carbon?
Coal.

You know what else is made of carbon?
Diamond.

To exit the hell of the coal mine, i had to transfigure carbon.

To bring light where there was only dark,
i had to become crystalline.

i rooted and rose—deep gratitude to the Roses for their assistance—to the occasion and both completed the ceremony orchestrated by life—and made it out alive, with my psyche in tact.

i know this thru direct experience validated and confirmed by direct experience.

Being, here, now on Earth and ”simply” living can be a complex experience; and is itself a great act of service to all of life.

Being anywhere, regardless of what one is doing, is an act of service.

Breathing is an act of service to life.

Each breath a potential prayer, declaration, statement of intent, acknowledgement.

In my estimation, it comes down to this.

One must truly know who one is, to show up in such a world in such a divinely designated way; and that requires a journey of initiation where life itself is the credentialing authority...and where it is thru your intimate and ongoing phenomenological conversation with life that you, and you alone, know and feel thru direct experience, when you are qualified for the role life is asking you to step into. Bold statement and it is for those whom it is for. Read that again.

You can't do, who you can't be.

Being requires re(source) and doing requires capacit(y)ance.

That's deep ain't it?

i've had to navigate my way out of my unique version of hell to live...and it's been a long and arduous stormy journey through inner, outer, lower, middle, and upper worlds of wet, wild, and messy shit storms...depression, despair, terror, fear, insecurity, suicidal thoughts, sorrow, shame, grief, anxiety, anger, worry, neediness, self-pity, hopelessness; name it, i've tasted it; i've fasted on it; i've apprenticed with.

Initiation after initiation, since when? Before i knew about before and after.

Life is the initiation; and yet not all who live are initiated.

Storm thru storm, i navigated—and as life would have it, i would become the I of the storm...for I AM the sailor, the navigator, the ship, the sea and the storm.

This embodied experience of navigating out of my uniquely crafted version of hell to live, is one of the many validators of my authority, even if it's only—and only is a lot in this case—Self-referencing authority. For someone to truly know Oneself is a rare feat in these times in my opinion; observation; and experience.

My journey has resulted in seeing, knowing, loving, and cherishing the extraordinary man I AM at equal depth to the at times seemingly bottomless hell i've had to navigate out of.

I'll say that again. My journey has resulted in seeing, knowing, loving, and cherishing the extraordinary man I AM at equal depth to the at times seemingly bottomless hell i've had to navigate out of.

This is, a credential in these times on earth..
and credentialed or not, i know who I AM; infinite and eternal.

As far as i've descended i've ascended; in equal measure and magnitude. Whatever depth i've been brought to, i was required to Self-presence at that depth...only to be brought to the next dimension of depth; again and again and...and i'm humble enough to acknowledge there are depths i've yet to taste,

as well as new heights of joy, delight, ease, love, pleasure, ecstasy and bliss—and all that simply was not yet available to be experienced.

Depth is not something to fear, but a teacher to be welcomed.

With depth comes pressure and it is pressure that forms diamonds. It is through these countless passages that i've found the rhythm of my diamond heart.

The only way thru is and was to locate Self in whatever strange and foreign waters i, the person/ality, found myself in.

How?

Thru deeper trust and surrender than was required at the prior depth...deeper surrender into the water, the currents, the wind, earth, fire—and the organizing intelligence of life. Absolute Trust in the Mother who cradles all of Life.

In this manner, every passage, was, is and has been and opportunity to discover more of the (em)power(ment) of who I AM beyond the circumstances and conditions, which serve to dismantle the reference points and structures of the false Self.

It's not that i was ever looking for power, but power results thru the alchemy.

...and now i, like the great celestial serpent, quake awake and rise from the rocky rim of grim where sea floor goes no more...and it's only just the beginning...

the best is yet to come.

i received this 'transmission' on a cold evening in Oregon as 12/20 concluded and 12/21 began. Around 11pm i decided to lay on my sheepskin, close my eyes, breath and attune to the very subtle cosmic frequencies i sensed were present.

Within 30-minutes i saw, felt, and became a great celestial serpent...soon thereafter i began writing and continued thru the precise solstice at 1:21am pst, massaging and translating into english as best i could the felt-sense of the frequencies i was attuning to and receiving.

At around 3am i went to bed and when i awoke i felt inspired to begin to produce the audio track below, which i completed on the evening of 12+27+24 = 9

So go rest, be, breath, close your eyes...relax and dream, while awake or asleep...when you can, whenever that is...

for there's always a moment to deepen presence with what is, even if that's with the phenomenon of resistance to what is

that's what is, until something else is what is.

Who knows which ancestor you're gifting with that moment of devotional resting presence with your attentive breath – and your dreams.

deep and devotional r&r (rest, reciprocity [and relaxation]) are needed for the times ahead...perhaps a depth of devotion, yet to be experienced.

nov-rem-ember — the month you are invited to light anew your devotion to rest, self-care, and incidentally harmonize with the reciprocity inherent in the essence of your very hearted-being.

in light of the subject matter, i'm inspired to offer 'rest into rest' somatic sessions.

If you're finding yourself challenged and struggling to 'rest into' the physiology of rest than this session may be for you...because to rest need not be a struggle.

Meaning...even if you have the circumstances and conditions that are conducive to rest (i.e., time, space, quiet, and comfy things)...you still can't rest or 'wind down'.

Perhaps your direct experience is revealing to you that something deeper and more fundamental to your physiology is impacting and effecting your ability to rest into rest.

Congratulations! ...the body speaks and you're listening.

Sometimes (quite often actually) it's not so much the outer conditions, as it is the inner conditions and your neurological 'software' that's needing maintenance and upgrading—and that's precisely what we'll do during this session.

Create the conditions, through an exploration of your experience, which allows for the organizational intelligence of the body, source intelligence, to repair and rewire exactly in the way that it knows it needs—so as to access the greater depths of rest that it knows it needs. In so doing, you open your self to Self where new dimensions of recovery, rejuvenation, and dreaming are made available to you.

Together we will discover deeper dimensions of inner-space, opening you to dream and receive life anew for yourself and your ancestors—in your waking life.

In resting you gift all of life; in all directions; across all dimensions of space and time; for you are the emanator of the ripple—the waveform of higher-order life—that tends and mends precisely where is needed.

The same way the body knows precisely where to tend and mend after falling off a bike; multiple cuts, scrapes, sprains and bruises, yet the body knows where to prioritize focus with the resources available.

There's literally nothing for you to do, other than to show up.

The experience itself will be restful, nourishing, and slow you way down.

Greetings... i, ken, come to you today with a message from the Narwhal's, one that i received on Sunday, October 6th, subsequent to navigating through some profoundly pressureful waters within.

How?

You pierce the veil(s) by fixing yourself and your vessel’s ‘heading’ to the cosmic north-star that the “unicorn of the sea” points to…

You chose faith, trust, and surrender to the great Mother

You anchor your self in the safe-waters of the Self who knows that life is orchestrating in your favor—especially when the ‘evidence’ suggests anything but this.

You anchor and stabilize; regardless of what the terrifyingly wild waters and FEAR inducing (false evidence appearing real / aka illusions) circumstantial sea-monsters attempt to get you to believe.

you, very simply, say no to their temptations.

Drop anchor ⚓️

Drop to the ground.

Use your plasma torch of truth and higher knowing 🔥 to burn through the aeons of debris and trash.

When enough has been burned and your vessel is purified (enough for now), the Great Mother will lovingly welcome you into the sacred and calm waters of her holy womb.

You are held.

You are loved.

You are ok.

Not as a concept, but as a direct experience; in and through ‘you’ (the identity/persona), your nervous system, and your spine — via the entrainment with her crystalline coding.

Feel the ground beneath you 'containing' the liquid light that you are.

You are held.

You are loved.

You are ok.

Keep breathing, on the ground, for as long as is necessary to anchor into what is eternal and everlasting:

the light and breath of the divine that you are.

To receive the medicine of a cold autumn river, you must choose to strip yourself naked, and step into the frigid waters.

The river cannot make that choice for you.
Nor can the river move your body to dance with her.

She cannot choose for you to meet her flow or to sync into her rhythm.

You must choose to move yourself, to enter her current, to dance with her.

If you do not make such choices,
her medicine remains at a distance.

Seen, dreamed of and imagined, hypothesized; but not known, felt, or experienced.

You may be soaking wet, but only in your mind.

For your body remains dry,
dry as your throat.

If you do not make these choices,
her medicine remains at a distance.

Just like the girl you wanted to dance with at the 8th grade dance,
but were too shy and timid to hike over to.

The voices of your friends intervened,
comfort, safety, and familiarity all said not to...

It's too dangerous...
She's having fun with her friends...
The punch is delicious...
This is the perfect spot to perch...

watching like a hawk above,
…taking it all in
waiting for just the right moment,
 to make the move...

But.

But, that moment never comes.

Because of fear.

The shaking and shivering is real,
though not from the cold water,
but from the bone cold chill of fear.

A fear that can only be shaken off by entering the water.

You must choose.

To do what is uncomfortable.

You must choose to strip down,
feel the absolute nakedness of your being,
shake, scream, dance, whatever it takes

Move...
move your feet,
however awkwardly,
through the deep brush,
and into the frigid waters,
of the unknown and unfamiliar.

into the wilderness.

into the wild waters of the feminine.

She wants to dance with you,
and you know it.

You can feel it.

But you mistaken that knowing for fear.

Life calls it excitement.

You know you don’t want to be that guy...

Thinking about being that guy,
is the dance that has you,
and distracts you.

The dance between fear and excitement,

The dance between head and heart.

You know you don’t want to be that guy...

The guy who goes home,
filled with immense regret,
for you didn't dance with the girl,
that you knew wanted to dance with you.

Call on courage.

All you need to do is choose,
choose that yes.

Dance with her.

Strip down and step into the current of her feminine flow.

Move one foot,
now the other...

Now keep moving...

and feel the movement,

feel fear

move to

excitement.

…and don’t forget to breathe.

Breathe will hold you,
As she moves you,
Into the places and spaces,
You may have never visited

You made it.

Here you are.
Breathing.
In the flow.

Being with all of her.

You made the choice.

You earned this ecstasy.

The ecstasy of born of water and fire.

Of the blazing sun.

The sun that you are.

A son of the sun,

Penetrating and saturating your heart

You let yourself receive,
the medicine,
of her medicine.

The medicine of a cold autumn river.

Sometimes the only thing left to do is to let go.

To choose to let go and yield yourself to the unbearable weight of the world.

To make the choice to let yourself be crushed by all of it—the matter of all the matter(s) weighing on your body, mind, and heart.

The matter that you’re conscious of and the matter that’s felt, but remains beyond your conscious awareness.

To let gravity crush you with the unbearable weight of the matter of earth matters.

Those seen and those unseen.

Those known and those unknown.

To let the unimaginable gravitas
of the matters of life,
crush the seemingly uncrushable you,
who resists the crushing force of life.

Sometimes all thats left to do is to simply let go, to yield, and to allow.

To let the pressure and heat of life morph carbon and water into a beautiful liquid crystalline diamond of light.

To allow yourself to be taken by the often terrifying (and at times painful) process of becoming the diamond you’re destined to be.

Only you, as the alchemist of your life, can know when your resistance is actually serving you.

Or is serving the you,
that’s resisting.

The crushing force of life,
in service to you.

Becoming the unique diamond that you are.

Most times though, you can’t know; for alchemy is beyond the mind.

...and that's ok, because life knows.

Sometimes the only thing left to do is,
find your way to the ground…

To the earth.

To find your way

to breathe…

The breathe of the earth.

To slow down.

just. breathe.

Notice each breathe.

Listen for the beat.

It's there.

Breath to that beat

Find your rhythm.

And ease into
being with

what’s already there.

The Crushing Force of Life

I began this post on Sept. 29th and in service to completing and sharing more of my writing, I chose to complete this and post today on October 9th.

Around dusk this evening I was pleasantly surprised to meet two of my neighbors who live in a house about fifty-feet south of my straw bale…on the other side of the fence; that metal thing that separates worlds.

John and his sister Jamie are 11 years old, they're twins.

Though they live next door — and I can hear them and their parents outdoor conversations and play — this was the first time we’ve met in the 11 months I’ve lived at my place.

They, along with the other children who live on my property, saw smoke billowing from my outdoor kitchen.

The kids who live on the property know what the smoke means… tortilla time!

A stampede of children arrived and asked if they could make tortillas with me.

I said yes and invited them into the outdoor kitchen they had already shuffled onto.

Making tortillas is one of my daily rituals.

I use spring water; heirloom masa from Mexico; a makeshift tortilla press (my cutting board); and a propane burner with a cast iron skillet.

Making tortillas is an art and a science that is simple, fun, and interactive. They also taste +/- 10,000,000x better than store bought tortillas.

There’s also a deep sense of satisfaction when you make your own tortilla.

The kids here love to help and often join me; their and my love is one of the secret ingredients in these tortillas.

While an assembly line of kids were making tortillas care of my guidance, John and Jamie looked into my straw bale and were taken by all the “Indian things”.

Flutes; feathers; hanging plants; branches and sticks; “animal furs” (sheepie rugs); ceramics'; dreamcatchers; and other odds and ends of the earth.

They literally ooo’ed and ahh’ed as they peered into what I imagine through their eyes must have looked like a trading post from the 1700’s.

In a matter of fact way, John casually shared that my flute playing is annoying to his family. I listened, attentively, as he shared.

I then told John that the noise from their daily evening dirt-bike excursions are annoying to me.

He listened.

I then asked them if they hear the rumbling of the bombs in the distance (artillery training) from Pendleton Marine Base —or the many helicopters in the evenings.

They said yes—and shared that it often keeps them and their family up at night.

I shared that it keeps me up too.

I let them both know that the bombing and helicopters are more annoying than their dirt bikes. John agreed and shared that the bombing and helicopters are more annoying than my late night flute playing.

John then shared that once the flute “gets into” his head it helps him, and his family, to fall asleep at night.

I thanked him for sharing and let him know it felt good to hear him say that.

He then told me my new nickname, Nature Guy.

I smiled and told him he’s welcome to call me Nature Guy if he’d like.

Him and his sister laughed and started repeating,

“Nature Guy, Nature Guy, Nature Guy!"

The kids took their warm tortillas and like the wind, one by one, blew out as as quickly as they had blown in.

“Bye Ken”

“Bye John, bye Jamie. Nice to meet you both."

Jamie let me know she’ll be here tomorrow for the kids meeting and might see me… I smiled and told her I look forward to seeing her tomorrow.

I watched as the kids ran off into the sunset — towards the trampoline — to get a few more precious minutes of play in before parents, in all directions, would call them home for dinner.

Each sacred, profound, and holy.

For a boy to become a man.
He must lose his father
For some that loss happens before birth
For others, during life.
Some fathers will lose their sons
Sons whose lives were too short to be granted the initiation of loss.

For a boy to become a man he must become a father
Some boys never become a father
Even if they bring a child into this world.

Some sons become fathers
Even without the offspring of their seed

Some sons, still boys, bring life into this world
But never stand erect as father.

To become a man is a privileged initiation
Granted by Grace to some, but not all.

Some are birthed of a void
The void of the father that never was

Loss hardwired into the architecture of ones being
Normal…as the setting sun…as the rising moon.

Other are birthed of a void
Blessed to know nothing
but presence and connection.

To be immersed in a sound bath of frequency

This post is raw, real, and rich with life—and it will take an investment of your time for you to have the complete experience.

Here we go.

The time has come to write—and share—this f****** post; the one I’ve been mulling over for months.

Have you ever chewed on something over and over and ovvvveeerrrrrrr? Until there's nothing left to chew? ...and all that remains is an unwavering awareness of what is?

Like Astro, my childhood dog who loved to chew shoes and purses. After an intense bout of destruction (or creative expression), he'd finally settle down and sit peacefully under the table amidst the leather and suede spattered chaos surrounding him.

For months, I've expended profound mental energy chewing on what I would say here, right here. There's soooo much I could say, and want to say, and so much that wants to be said that the energy of this post has at times felt to be too much for me to hold in my nervous system, let alone write.

Fortunately, this post is ready to come through, because I’m ready. I feel relieved and I notice that relief as an expansiveness in my chest. My breath is deeper, I feel a newfound lightness in my shoulders and a spaciousness around the boundary of my skin. It's like there's a buffer between the physical skin I can see and touch and the actual interface where the skin receives sensory data from the environment.

I've been holding this post in my heart—for what I could say is far too long—but in fact, is exactly how long was required, to remember what needed to be remembered, and to embody what needed to be embodied in order to arrive to this sacred moment of profound expression and ownership.

I know that it's time to write this post and share this photo because I feel completely equanimous regarding what I say and what comes through.

I am in flow and I am in service to the muse within.

Potential is condensing into form and there are infinite possibilities of potential form. The truth is, the exact form this ultimately takes is but one of infinite forms.

Each word, each sentence, forming form.

And with each word I type, I grieve for the collective of forms whose destinies are but to remain within the realm of the infinite formlessness that is.

So, here we are. I’m holding the pen, and Spirit, as Ken, is writing.

It's been nearly two years since I updated my profile picture. A seemingly inconsequential detail, but quite significant for me, in my experience of reality.

Clearly, I could have just posted this new picture (as some have suggested) and moved on with my life, but that's just not how I roll.

Pictures tell stories, as do I.

Marry the two, and you have something special.

A story about a story—a story within a story.

...and this story—and this photo—are special.

For they capture something.

What is that something...?

Well, what do you see when you look at this photo?

Certainly, you see something, but what is it?
What are you aware of when you look at this photo?
Maybe you notice the way I'm positioned, the paint on my face, the contrast of the colors of my clothing, the tone of my skin, or something else.

Now, look into my eyes.
What character qualities am I reflecting for you?
What do you notice in your body?
What do you sense?
...and where is that sense-sation?
What is the nature of what is arising within you?
Are you thinking? Notice the thoughts. What are the thoughts?
Are you feeling something? What do you feel?
What is the sensation of your felt experience?

I invite you to get curious. These questions are simply words. That is until you stop and allow them to facilitate an experience for you. The choice is yours.

Regardless of what you see, you’re being impacted by this photo.

My life and the medicine that I carry is impacting you, your life, and the medicine that you carry.

This photo contains the impact of every moment of every experience.
Those remembered and those long forgotten.
From this life and the lives of my ancestors.

And the impact of September 2018 - April 2019, seven of the most challenging, albeit rewarding, months of my life.

The impact of uncoupling from my former partner, Aria. The dismantling of our co-created reality. The grief, the sorrow, the sadness. The cracking open of my heart. The dissolution of a vision. The dissolution of The Lion’s Den, our epic temple space in Santa Barbara. The ocean of tears.

Followed soon thereafter with the experience of my greatest fear.

The death of my dad, Alan Fried

Who passed sometime between the night of December 21st and morning of December 22nd.

Six days for my brother Aaroo Illuminated and I to plan a funeral, which had no prior plans. In another state, with zero funds. The impact and weight of challenging the laws of the Jewish tradition. Leading when required. Being led when needed. The mental, emotional and physical effects of stress. Saying yes, when yes was required. Saying no, more often than was comfortable. Changing directions when the heart instructed. The impact of trusting the unreasonable voice. The power of prayer. And the power of commanding reality. Allowing for the magic to manifest. Like the magic of getting our father buried in the same cemetery as his brother and father—a cemetery which had no open plots.

Feeling everything. Facing everything. Leaning into everything. Recording everything (with my iPhone, for a documentary).

The impact of spending my 35th birthday on a flight from LA to NY. With my bro by my side, on the way to our dad's funeral the following morning. Ironically despite the crying babies and Lenny—my bro’s cat—meowing the entire flight, it literally was a spa experience relative to the days prior.

The impact of that sacred moment when a boy becomes man, by giving an extemporaneous eulogy to 30+ family and friends, which included honoring—by acknowledging my rightful place on the throne as the eldest son—and publicly declaring myself crowned as the primary lineage holder. For this, I was aware needed to happen during this traditional Jewish funeral service. As did playing my hand-built Eagle Head Native American flute, purchased two nights earlier from my friend and brother Adan specifically for the funeral. Tradition juxtaposed with humble authenticity.

A single day of rest after the funeral.

Then hundreds upon hundreds of decisions, during months of deep ceremony and shamanic ritual with my dear brother as we cleaned and cleared out our childhood home in Long Island (with the extraordinary on the ground, in the house support of Grandpa Dave & the love and conversational breaks offered by Lee).

Which wasn't just a home filled with frivolous objects, but a literal treasure chest, a reliquary, a mausoleum and museum of a time past, an unregistered and unrecognized General Motors historic site, for that was our dad’s passion and life—new old stock, classic American car parts—and film photography.

Parallel to this, I was navigating a divinely timed and precisely orchestrated intense and beautiful sensual and sexual connection with a powerful woman, unknowingly stepping into yet another high heat, high pressure alchemical container in service to the complete and total annihilation of any trace of self who sought comfort or escape from reality through Disneyland romance.

If my plate wasn’t full enough, these circumstances catalyzed a profound internal alchemical process, which showed up via the direct experience of preverbal/nonverbal states of consciousness, and the illumination of unintegrated fragments of self through the awareness of trauma contained in that developmental realm of consciousness. Requiring me to intensively study and learn to navigate and renegotiate development trauma (which like so much of the inner work is an ongoing process). Only now can I describe it in this way. During the weeks this awareness was coming online, I was confused as fuck and literally had no words to describe this facet of my experience, until I did.

What I experienced during the first three months of this year was a complete reorganization of my internal landscape—a system reboot, cleanse, and detox. A process and protocol which required every micro sliver of my deepest presence, attention, and willingness to remain curious.

Fortunately, I was surrounded by love and supported by family, friends, and healers.

I also took refuge in the dharma, by leaning as deep as I ever had into the core of my spiritual life—my ten-year meditation practice—practicing up to three times daily. My life had become meditation, and I was on a retreat to reality, staying warm by the heat of catharsis during the cold dreary winter days of NY.

Then there was the complex and highly nuanced journey to arrive at the decision, in February, that it was time to release my d.e.e.p.l.y cherished dreadlocks.

The 11pm, night-before-I-leave ceremony while on retreat at Will Rēzin's and Aurianna Joy's home. A ceremony to release the version of Ken that had died when my dad died. To honor the death of my greatest teacher. To symbolically consecrate this rebirth, by letting go of this form of self.

Will’s presence, Aurianna’s encouragement, Rumi and Gaia’s sweetness, Yaima's new album, and a scissor.

One final moment to notice, to feel, and to honor my relationship with each dread—and then snip.

The release of an entire means of orienting to the world and to unseen, but felt data, via this particular antenna system.

Followed by the most pleasurable ten minutes of my life—literally—the epiccccc scalp massage which followed the cutting of the last dread.

Followed by a two-week identity crisis of the highest caliber, making those of the past feel like a walk in the park.

Pressure and heat form the diamond, so the geologists say.

And yet amidst all of this, I had access to a space within myself of ease and peace, silence and stillness—joy and the simplicity of naked bliss. A place completely unaffected and untouched by time and circumstance. My sacred temple. My holiest of holies. The space containing the holy grail of pure awareness.

From this place, I was available for laughter. For beautiful and precious moments with family and friends, the joy of being together. For late-night fits of laughter and hilarity with my mom Sharon and her husband Thom. The gift and pleasure of entire cartons of Coconut Bliss. Massages. Float Tanks. Long walks in the Valley Stream State Park and on the Long Beach boardwalk. Salt and essential oil baths. Tantric explorations. Late-night drives around my old stomping ground. The innocent excitement of the budding of trees as winter became spring. Writing powerful content for Facebook at Starbucks, one of my places of peace. Adventuring around NYC, talking to strangers, wandering without plan, agenda, or destination. Showing up and serving, a handful of individuals, when and where asked of me, with a smile on my face and gratitude in my heart. Littering Long Island with Love—and smiles.

This is the highlight reel and covers up until April when I returned back to California. There’s an entire field of experience and awareness I simply do not have the language to communicate and so that too remains in the infinite. The realm of the shaman. What I haven't shared is all I haven't shared, which amongst actual story, and events, includes the ineffable details of healing which transcend expression. The ascension work, the grounding work, the release and remembrance work. The reprogramming of somatic circuitry. The collapsing of timelines. The dismantling of distortion. The breaking of spells. The shock and developmental trauma work. Salsa dancing with profoundly complex seen and unseen personal and collective dynamics. Engaging with individuals who embodied the entire spectrum of consciousness. Navigating ancestral entanglements and lineage issues with grace. Exposing and releasing attachment. The moment to moment blossoming of awareness and the upgrading of the software of the internal intuitive and energetic GPS system.

The integration. The endless integration. The Rest. The Relaxation.

The continuous journey, in real-time from the mind—and thought—to body, heart, and sensation. The unceasing movement from discursive thinking to somatic awareness. The destruction of wishful thinking.

Presence.
Presence.
Presence.

Many months of death and rebirth, and a profound roto-rootering of the miles of the internal psychosomatic plumbing by the great purifier that death, loss, crisis, and crossroads can and often are. Resulting in a deeper and stronger connection to Self, Spirit, power, and truth.

A solidified connection to family and ancestors, and to my/our place and space of origin.

In short, through these rites of passage, initiations, and countless other shared and unshared ordinary—and extraordinary—ceremonial and non-ordinary experiences (and states of consciousness) I have awoken to my Self and continue to anchor into who and what I AM.

By way of descent. By dropping to my fucking hands and knees and embracing life. By learning how to be with discomfort—and all sensation for that matter.

I'm grateful for everything I've experienced—all of it— for every experience is and has medicine. I'm grateful for the life I’ve lived and the life I have yet to live.

I'm grateful for the infinite ways life is schooling me. I'm so grateful and feel blessed for my specific Divine lesson plan. This curriculum is intense, but I would never trade it. I asked for this—and for that, I am proud of myself. For only a lion would choose such a path.

I would not be who I am if not for all I've experienced.

I'm so grateful, so so grateful.

My heart is beating. I am alive and to live is to learn.

So, what do I, Ken, see, when I look into the eyes of mySelf?

Awareness aware of awareness.

The grit and bliss of life.
The pleasure and pain.
The tears and the laughter.
The sorrow and joy.
The love and the loss.

I see infinity.

I see Ken.

Defined as one's range of knowledge or sight.

The ken in this Ken is infinite.

And he holds a drop of infinity in the medicine bag of his heart.
